First Penance (First Reconciliation) and First Holy Communion

Each year our second class children celebrate their First Holy Communion. This beautiful celebration will take place in St. Brigid’s Church, Blanchardstown, each May. It is a very special time in your child’s faith journey and a treasured milestone in our school community.

At St. Francis Xavier JNS, in partnership with St. Brigid’s Parish, we work closely with families to help each child prepare for this sacred occasion with understanding, joy, and reverence. Through prayer, reflection, and classroom activities, the children learn about the meaning of the Eucharist and the importance of sharing God’s love with others.

During the year, the children will also celebrate their First Penance (First Reconciliation) a special moment when they learn about God’s love and forgiveness.

This is a special time in the children’s faith journey, as they grow in understanding and come to recognise how home, school, and parish work together to help them know God’s love. Together, we share the joy and privilege of guiding and supporting them along the way.
